Week 12 - Assignment 2:

Edmodo:

There are many great ways that a teacher can use edmodo to enhance her classroom here are a few:

  • Teachers can give homework assignment to be done and uploaded onto the classes Edmodo group. This way student can't lose their homework as it's uploaded on their account. Students can also easily contact their teacher if they have any questions about the assignment. The teacher also doesn't need to be busy checking who gave in their homework and who didn't as the computer automatically records it all.
  • Teachers can post notes and helpful study sheets to help the students prepare themselves for any upcoming tests.
  • Teachers can send reminders to the students about any upcoming events, such as a reminder to bring their library books, gym uniform, smock for arts and crafts, etc...
  • Students can post their work so that all of their classmates can see, and they can comment and critique on their friends work.
I really like the idea of using edmodo with ones students, I feel that it is a great tool to help the teacher and students have contact with each other if they ever feel the need for clarification. It's a great way to teach the children how to use technology the proper way for things that are important like homework and studying for tests.
